Front Porch with the Fitzes

Front Porch with the Fitzes, is a weekly chinwag featuring author Elyse Fitzpatrick and two of her three kids, Jessica Thompson and Joel Fitzpatrick. Sometimes some unexpected folks might even drop by and sit for a spell. Every week they’ll jibber about faith, family life, things that interest them in culture or news, and what they’re learning about the Lord and their Christianity. Imagine sitting on the front porch of your ol’ Kentucky home, listening to three slightly off-kilter believers talk about life, do a lot of laughing at each other and everyone else…and then, of course, there’s always the bluegrass music playing in the background.

In this week's episode we start with reading some reviews from Apple Podcast on our little show. We start with a one star review and end with a five star review. Spoiler: people don't like it when we talk politics. Then we talk all the fun stuff we did over the past couple weeks. We end with a beautiful poem from Marte Riley.

It's just the original crew this week no guest. That means we are a little more out of control than normal. We tell a Florida Man story and another story that is as crazy as a Florida Man story. Then we spend some time talking about Biblical Counseling, where it was, where it is, how it helps, and how if used improperly it may hurt.

Rachel Green Miller joins us this week to talk about her book Beyond Authority and Submission. Of course, we have to talk about Baby Yoda and get to know Rachel for a bit first. Then we spend a lot of time talking about biblical roles and complementarianism. Rachel closes out with a great devotional.
